50 Date Ideas For Spouses





1. Start making homemade Christmas presents for family members even if it's summer time. This way if they take time to make you can work on them together and give thoughtful gifts from both of you when it's time.

2. Re-decorate a room in your house together. One of you can paint a wall a new color while the other hangs some shelves. Listen to music while you do it.

3. Write each other a love letter and then read it to each other.

4. Go pick out a speciality chocolate at your nearby market or chocolate store for each other and try chocolate covered bacon or honeycome or chocolate chipotle bars together.

5. Build a raft Huck Finn style and try it out.

6. Create a giant abstract painting or piece of art together to hang on one of your bare walls. Get creative with materials.

7. Sign up for United Way or Boys & Girls club together and serve the kids together.

8. Bake a surprise cake for a friend's birthday or leave it for a neighbor together.

9. Make a scary movie together. Write the cheesy script, act it out, and watch it after you've filmed it.

10. Build a birdhouse.

11. Plant a garden together. Consider choosing seeds that are a "secret" to the other person until they grow and let it be a surprise. Husband might plant a flower that reminds him most of his wife for example.

12. Browse craigslist or local thrift stores for a fun find.

13. Refurnish a table or chair or dresser together.

14. Go to the High School football or baseball or wrestling match together and cheer them on.

15. Go to the local theater.

16. See what kinds of classes and clubs your local library is offering.

17. Sign up on a site such as meetup.com and sign up for a club/group together such as a dance class or star gazing group.

18. Teach each other about your favorite hobby; why you love it, the rules, the history, the techniques, etc.

21. Draw out plans for a treehouse and go about building it one weekend at a time.

22. Pick berries at nearby berry farm on growing on vines nearby.

27. Go on a ghost tour. Many cities have a ghost tour guide and you can pay for a tour of all the mysterious, historical spooky places near where you live.

28. Start making your Halloween costumes so that by the time Halloween rolls around no one can top how awesome they turned out.

29. Get pastries from a small bakery that makes everything by hand.

30. Go to a shooting range and practice your aim.

31. Look into buying a firepit for your backyard for regular bonfires and s'mores.

32. Pick a historical person to read about together.

33. Watch scientific videos on YouTube about the human brain or the universe.

34. Go to Barnes & Noble and sit by each other reading the same books together about things you never knew.

35. Plan a theme party together to invite friends to.

36. Let your spouse go through your closet and pull out the clothes they don't care for and then go shopping together where they pick out an entire outfit that they really love on you.

37. Go perfume/cologne shopping together and allow each other to choose a scent that really "does it" for them.

38. Download a mystery audio book from sites such as audible.com and listen to them on a nighttime drive together or while you're cuddling at home.

39. Let your husband do your makeup without guiding him on what goes where or which tool is for what purpose. Admire the results.

40. Research your family history together.

41. Look through each other's baby pictures and awkward teenager pictures.

42. Plan a surprise party for another family member or friend or parent's anniversary.
